SHOPIFY ATELIER
Shopify store setup service for makers and artists, search-ready and launched in one to two weeks.
Ready for your products to have their own online home, and be found by the people who've been looking for them all along?
The Shopify Atelier is a focused alternative to the months-long website project, with your store designed on one of our in-house premium templates, SEO foundations included. You'll know exactly what we're building and your launch day from the start: a date to look forward to, circled on the calendar.
The process is fully asynchronous, so you won't need to clear your calendar or wait for a check-in call. We guide you through gathering your content step by step, and from there, all we ask is your feedback at a few key moments. When the work wraps up, we'll hand your Shopify store over with everything you need to run it confidently!
Is this the right fit?
Shopify Atelier works best for a specific kind of project. It's worth a moment to check.
Shopify Atelier is good fit if…
You're launching your first Shopify store
You're moving from Etsy, Squarespace, another marketplace or platform
You're happy to start your Shopify journey with a beautiful and high-converting template restyled to your brand
You're comfortable with an async process, sharing feedback in writing or voice notes at key moments
Your branding is in place, or you're adding Brand Styling for Web before your design week
Shopify Atelier is not the right fit if…
You're redesigning an existing Shopify store, for which we'll need to work on strategy first (see Shopify Bespoke)
You need advanced custom functionality or third-party integrations
You need a Shopify site with a fully custom design
You'd prefer live calls and real-time meetings throughout the project
You'd like us to handle bulk import or data migration of a large catalogue
Choose your Shopify Atelier package:
A store that can't be found in search is a store working at a fraction of its potential, which is why SEO isn't an afterthought here. It's built into both packages from day one! The end result is the same either way: a Shopify store with solid SEO foundations in place. The difference is who does the preparation.
With the Shopify Atelier, you arrive with your copy already written with your keywords woven in and optimised images ready, and we place everything with care (we'll provide you with a straightforward Store Info & Content Guide covering exactly what to prepare, so nothing gets lost in translation between your copy and your finished store).
With the Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift, we take that work off your hands entirely: keyword research, SEO titles & descriptions, and image optimisation. Got copy already, even a rough draft? We'll edit it for search and readability. Starting from scratch? We'll draft it for you using AI, then refine it by hand until it sounds like you.

Important:
Project length reflects the Shopify store setup by us. Your preparation phase, guided by the Store Info & Content Guide, comes first and isn't counted in these timeframes. All required assets must be submitted at least 1 week before the project start.
Available add-ons:
-
Not sure Shopify is the right platform, or want a clearer sense of direction before you commit to your website build? The E-commerce Strategy Roadmap gives you exactly that, a focused intensive to bring clarity before you begin. It's priced at $700 USD and can be booked on its own, or paired with your Atelier if you'd like strategy first.
-
No logo, colour palette, or font files yet? We've got you! A finalised set of these is part of what we need before your project begins, since they shape how your template gets restyled to feel unmistakably yours. If your branding isn't in place, or it no longer fits the direction you're heading in, Brand Styling for Web can be added before the Atelier starts.
-
Need more than what's included in your package? Extra pages, beyond the homepage, About, Collection, Product, Contact and FAQ pages already covered, can be added on request. Let us know what you have in mind when you book, and we'll scope it in.
-
Want your store connected to a specific app from day one, an email marketing platform like Klaviyo, a loyalty programme, a review widget, or something else entirely? We can set that up either as part of your project or after, just let us know when you book.
-
Once your store is live, search performance doesn't stand still. Ongoing SEO support, with regular reports and adjustments, may be available after your project wraps up. Get in touch if you'd like to talk through what that could look like for your store.
What you'll need to bring:
The Atelier moves at pace, which is what makes it valuable. The preparation that comes before is what makes it possible – and we've designed the Store Info & Content Guide you'll receive after booking to make that gathering process as simple as we can. Here's what to have ready before your start date.
Your brand assets – a finalised logo, colour palette, and font files. If these aren't yet in place, Brand Styling for Web can be added before the build week begins.
Your brand & product photography – clear, well-lit images that represent your work well. The Atelier is designed to make your photography look its best; arriving with strong images makes a genuine difference.
Your store info, SEO details & website copy – our content Store Info & Content Guide will make this straightforward. If you're booking the Shopify Atelier (rather than Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift package), you'll need SEO-optimised copy ready to place.
Your product details – titles, descriptions, pricing, and variants for the products you're launching with. You don't need your entire catalogue – we set up to 5 products during your Atelier, and you'll know exactly how to add the rest yourself after handover.
Your domain (optional) – if you'd like us to connect it to your store as part of your project.
How your project unfolds:
-
Start by filling out the enquiry form, it's the easiest first step! If it looks like a good fit, we'll follow up by email with available project dates to choose from. Fancy adding E-commerce Strategy and/or Brand Styling for Web? Just let us know, and it'll be included in your project from the start. Your spot is confirmed once your deposit is paid and your contract is signed, and from there, we're ready to begin.
-
As soon as your project is booked, you'll get an invitation to your very own client portal, home to all our communication and your Store Info & Content Guide, covering your store setup and your store copy in one tidy place. It's due back at least 1 week before your start date, giving us time to review everything and check in on anything that needs a little clarifying before the work begins.
-
Your project length depends on your package and any add-ons, one week (5 business days) for the Shopify Atelier, longer if you've chosen the Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift package or added extras.
We'll be carrying most of the workload, but your feedback at a few key moments helps steer things in the right direction, so you don't need to be on standby, just responsive when it counts! Feedback is easy, just a message through your client portal's built-in chat.
-
You'll leave with everything you need to run your store with confidence, plus a two-week window of bug support, so nothing that surfaces early goes unattended.
If you've chosen the Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift package, you'll also receive 3 monthly search performance reports over your first 90 days. Want that visibility work to continue beyond your Atelier? Ongoing SEO Support may be available, just ask.
Frequently asked questions about the Shopify Atelier:
-
Think of it as a structured, time-limited design service in which your store is built and launched within a defined, focused timeline, typically a week (5 business days). It works within a clear scope, an in-house premium Shopify template, an agreed set of pages and products, and a clean handover. A calm alternative to longer, open-ended projects, and a good fit if you're ready to launch and know what you need.
-
Both packages land in the same place: a launch-ready Shopify store with SEO foundations in place. The real difference is who prepares them. With the Shopify Atelier, you arrive with your own keywords, optimised copy, and images, and we implement everything as part of your project. With the Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift, that preparation becomes ours: keyword research, SEO titles and descriptions, headings hierarchy, image optimisation, and either refinement of your existing copy or AI-drafted, hand-revised copywriting if you'd prefer we take the lead. The Uplift also includes Google Analytics and Search Console set-up checks, plus three monthly search performance reports over your first 90 days, so you can see how your store is being found. Timeline-wise, the Atelier completes in one week (5 business days); the Uplift runs across two.
-
The Shopify Atelier starts at $3,600 USD, covering a complete, launch-ready store built on one of our in-house templates. Want SEO foundations and website copy included too? The Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift package is $4,950 USD. For more complex or fully custom Shopify projects, Shopify Bespoke begins from $7,000 USD and is scoped individually.
-
Nice and simple: projects are split into 3 automated monthly payments. For the Shopify Atelier, that's $1,200 USD per payment; for the Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift, it's $1,650 USD per payment. The first payment is a non-refundable deposit that secures your project dates, once it lands and your contract is signed, your start date is confirmed and your client portal login details will follow shortly after.
-
Quite a lot! The Atelier covers the complete Shopify store setup: a restyle of one of our in-house templates, a homepage, collection page template and product page template, up to five pages and five products configured, mobile optimisation, and handover tutorials so you can manage your store independently from day one. The Atelier + Visibility Uplift package adds SEO foundations too – keyword research, page titles and descriptions, headings hierarchy, image optimisation, Google Analytics and Search Console checks – plus copy work across five pages and three monthly search performance reports over your first 90 days.
-
With the Shopify Atelier, the work itself is done within one week (5 business days). With the Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift, SEO and copy work happen together in week one, with the site setup and template restyle following in week two. What makes either timeline possible is the preparation that comes before: your filled out Store Info & Content Guide and photography you'll be providing, all due at least one week before your start date.
You can book your project dates up to three months in advance, so there's no rush, gather everything at your own pace. Earlier is better though, since availability shifts throughout the year!
-
Yes, and if you don't have these yet, we've got you! A finalised logo, colour palette, and font files are part of what we need before your project begins, since they shape how your template gets restyled to feel unmistakably yours. See Brand Styling for Web add-on for how we can help.
-
One of our premium in-house Shopify templates, built on Shopify's official base theme (light, fast-loading, and accessibility-compliant) and extended with our curated custom sections. We'll identify the right fit for your project during discovery, then restyle it to your brand during your project week. Our templates aren't available for standalone purchase; they're exclusive to the Atelier.
-
The choice is entirely yours! If you'd rather write your copy yourself, or hire a copywriter of your choosing, that works perfectly, we'll simply optimise what you provide for search and readability. AI only comes into it if you'd prefer we take the lead on writing.
When we do write copy as part of the Shopify Atelier + Visibility Uplift, AI is one tool in the process, helping us work at pace within the Atelier timeline without compromising quality. What actually shapes the result is the discovery work that comes before it: your brand voice, your audience, your products, and the keyword research specific to your site. Every page is reviewed, refined, and shaped by hand before it goes live, and one round of refinements is included so the final words are genuinely yours.
-
A few things, yes, and it's because they involve your business and financial details. Payment processing – connecting Shopify Payments or your preferred payment provider – requires your banking information, so that's something only you can set up. The same goes for your shipping rates and zones, any tax settings relevant to where you're selling, and your Shopify plan itself, since that's billed directly to you.
If you'd like us to connect your domain during your build week, purchase it beforehand, through Shopify or elsewhere, and we'll link it to your store as part of the project.
None of this is complicated, and Shopify's own setup guides walk you through each step clearly! We'll flag them for you so you know exactly what to expect, and you can complete them at your own pace before launch.
-
Of course, and you'll know exactly how! The handover tutorials walk you through adding products using the template we've set up, so you leave with the confidence to manage your store yourself.
Looking to add more pages rather than products? See Additional Pages in the add-ons above.
-
You've got a two-week post-handover bug support window included with every Atelier project. This covers fixing anything that isn't working as it should, not new scope, tweaks, or additional content. During this time, you can raise a bug via your client portal and we'll sort it.
Beyond that window, we're happy to work in phases. Got a wishlist of things you'd love your Shopify store to have eventually, more pages, extra features and apps? Keep it in mind, and get in touch when you're ready. For anything substantial, an E-commerce Strategy Roadmap first helps us map out the right direction before diving in. If it's ongoing visibility you're after rather than a specific build, Ongoing SEO Support is worth a mention too.

Yes, Shopify is one of the most capable choices out there for artists and makers who sell physical products. It handles inventory, international shipping, multiple currencies, and checkout with a reliability that DIY setups or marketplace-dependent stores rarely match. If you're ready to move beyond Etsy or a basic landing page toward a proper, story-rich store you own and control, it's a strong choice. The real question usually isn't whether Shopify is right for you, it's whether the timing is right. The Atelier is designed for makers who are ready.
-
If you're moving from Etsy, Squarespace, or another marketplace or platform, the Atelier gives you a Shopify store that's fully yours, not rented space on someone else's platform. One thing it doesn't include is bulk data or inventory transfer: we set up five of your chosen products, built on a clean product page template, so every listing looks intentional from day one. Think of it as a curated opening rather than a full inventory transfer.
If you're moving from a marketplace, this is actually a lovely moment to edit down: launch your Shopify store with the products that best represent your work, and add the rest at your own pace after handover. The handover tutorials walk you through exactly how to do that independently.
-
Search has changed shape recently, and it's worth knowing what that means for your store. It's no longer just about ranking on Google. AI tools like ChatGPT and Google's AI Overviews are increasingly where people start looking, whether they're searching for "handmade ceramics near me" or asking an AI assistant to recommend a maker. Some people are calling this shift Search Everywhere Optimisation, since visibility now stretches well beyond one search engine.
The good news? The groundwork is largely the same either way. Clear page titles, well-structured headings, descriptive image alt text, and copy that genuinely answers the questions your customers are asking, these are the foundations that help both traditional search engines and AI tools understand what your store offers and who it's for. Build that groundwork well from the start, and you're set up to be found wherever people are looking, today and as search continues to evolve.
Note from your Shopify web designer:
Hello there! I’m Anastasiya.
I'm Anastasiya, the founder of The Arigato Co., working from Kyoto, Japan.
Before web design, I spent 4 years at the Kyoto Museum of Crafts and Design, helping manage the museum's online shop. Part of that work meant sitting down with the craftsmen whose pieces we sold, hearing how each one had been made, and understanding just how much care lived inside a single object. What struck me most was how rarely that care carried through to the way their work was sold online. A beautiful piece, presented on a page that didn't reflect it at all.
That gap is what led me here. I became a web designer specifically to help makers and artists like the ones I met in Kyoto, people whose work deserves a store built with the same intention they put into making it.
That connection to Kyoto's craft world never really left. I still lead design tours through the city, visiting artisan ateliers and introducing visitors to the same makers and studios that first shaped how I think about craft.
